Boulderfest 2010 Review and Photo Comp Winner
Boulderfest 2010 was the biggest CNS event to date, and by many accounts it was the best yet. 80 participants and about a dozen volunteers enjoyed perfect weather, delicious food and drink, great entertainment and prizes, and of course the world-class climbing on Dover Island.
We had climbers from Minnesota, Vermont, New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Brunswick in addition to the locals. Lots of projects got sent and Pulldown Productions was there to capture the moments on film. Check back here in September for the finished video and lots of photos from contributors including Dave at Climberism Magazine.
This event would not have been possible without the hard work of the CNS executive and Climb Nova Scotia would like to thank everyone that came out, especially Norm and Giz, Ben and Kris from MEC, Conan, Todd and all the other volunteers. The slackline, slingshot, and potato cannons were lots of fun and everyone loved the fireworks display; definitely better than most Halifax harbour shows!
Fantastic support this year from our title sponsors, Mountain Equipment Co-op and the Trail Shop, and a huge thanks to the North Face, Organic Climbing, La Sportiva, Propeller Brewery, Evolve, Blurr,  Flashed, Gripped magazine, and of course Nova Scotia Health Promotion and Protection who funds all of Climb Nova Scotia’s activities.
The CNS executive had a hard time picking the best among all the great entries, but in the end Brad Redden’s photo of a night session at the Exciter boulder was chosen as the winner. Thanks to everyone else who entered and congratulations Brad, you are now the proud owner of a North Face Base Camp Duffel!
