Huh. I figured it must be an old problem, as it's on such a prime boulder - or else there's some sort of covenant against climbing on that boulder!
Maybe if it was 4 times higher it could be called 'ride the lightning'. As it is, it's fun but doesn't give that kind of adrenaline rush. If it's a new problem I'll call it 'Jabulani'.

Looks like a super fun problem guys! Does it have a name? Ride the lightning has a nice ring to it.

Rowan your photos are always amazing. You should join the Climb Nova Scotia Flickr group at:

In what will surely rank as one of the most significant events of this season, or perhaps any season, in Nova Scotia climbing, Dan O'Brien and I spent an evening last week wire brushing and and climbing a few lines on the the big boulder at Prospect, the monkey-head shaped one closest to the village.
Particularly nice is this steep, juggy-laybacky-dyno-y problem that 'rides' the lightning bolt up the north face:

V1 or V2 (depending on how low you start) on good holds: fun.

So somebody left behind their chalkbag at D's C. on Monday.
This chalkbag is of sturdy nylon construction and coloured a handsome, no-nonsense olive green. Attached is a mini-carabiner emblazoned with the words 'University of Guelph.'
Also, speaking of "popular Chebucto Head climbing area gates" (they are?), somebody else (I assume!) got locked in at CCB last Friday night. A VW Golf with a crashpad in the back was parked at the gate when we were hiking out . That must have sucked!
